Logitech has always been notorious for making some amazing 3rd party controllers for consoles, sometimes even making them of higher quality than their 1st party counterparts.  For the PS3 Logitech has come out with yet another quality offering with the Cordless Precision controller.

Logitech has taken a pretty standard approach with this controller as they usually do.  They stay away from adding all of the bells and whistles with this offering and instead focus on the most important thing, quality.  The first thing you are going to notice when you first pick up the Cordless Precision controller is that it is built extremely well.  Even when compared to the standard Sony SIXAXIS controller, the offering here from Logitech feels much sturdier and is even a tad bit heavier.

The design is extremely sleek looking as the controller is colored black, but more of a stronger black than the PS3’s shiny glossy black.  Every single button on the controller with the exception of the sleek Logitech logo in the front middle of the controller is dead black.  This makes for a very sexy looking piece of hardware.  The analog sticks also have a nice design to them as well as the inner part of the analog sticks where the ball is, is all clear.  This nice added detail gives the controller even further character.  It is sized perfectly.

The way in which the controller is molded is also extremely well done.  As soon as you pick it up you will feel the molding in the back.  For normal sized hands it is nearly perfect.  You will be holding the bottom layer of the handles with your hands leaving your thumbs and index fingers wide open and free to reach the shoulder buttons, analog sticks, face buttons, etc.

On the face of the controller you are going to find the standard face buttons which are designed extremely well.  They feel great even after putting the controller through some intense gaming sessions.  The same can be said about the analog sticks, with the only complaint being that they may be a little too far in for people with small hands.  The sticks themselves function perfectly, feel smooth, and most importantly, feel sturdy.  Nothing gets pounded on more than the analog sticks and the precision of them is extremely important in a controller.  Thankfully Logitech pulls this off with ease.
