Last week we listed all the PS3 exclusives that we expect to release in 2011, most of which had confirmed release dates. Here's our list of what we wish was coming out in 2011, but probably won't.
White Knight Chronicles 2
White Knight Chronicles was one of the first JRPGs to release on the PlayStation 3, and despite being a pretty good game, the second game is yet to be announced for the EU and US. The first game took around 1 year and 2 months to release in western territories. White Knight Chronicles 2 released in Japan in July 2010, so we could possibly see it released in the US and EU in July 2011, but we're not holding out any hopes.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Tetsuya Nomura's Final Fantasy Versus XIII has apparently been in production in some way, since 2003, but was briefly stopped in 2008 so that Final Fantasy XIII could be finished. Will the game finally be finished in 2011? We hope so, but knowing Square Enix, it probably won't happen. That said, we could finally have a release date pretty soon, as Square are holding a conference on January 18th 2011.
The Last Guardian
We haevn't heard anything regarding The Last Guardian for a while now. Maybe that's because Sony wants to focus on the games that are coming out sooner, or maybe that's because there isn't anything to talk about. In either case, we can't help but feel that the media blackout regarding the game means it's nowhere near ready. Sony have slated this game for release in Q4 2011, but we know that they are not averse to delaying high profile games in order to ensure quality.
Eat Sleep Play announced that Twisted Metal would be coming to the PS3 in 2011 at this year's E3. However, the game looked relatively early on in development. In his most recent Q&A video, David Jaffe mentioned that the game was going into it's alpha stage. Meaning most of the game is done, but now is the time to iron out all the bugs and do a lot of play testing. It could possibly make it's Q4 2011 deadline.
The above image is all we know about the Rockstar PlayStation 3 exclusive, Agent. The game was officially announced in June 2009 at Sony's E3 conference, but no other information regarding the game has been released. Will we even see this game in 2011? Or will it be a no-show yet again? We think the latter is a lot more likely.
