The controls are pretty straightforward. You’ll be using the R1 button to sprint button a lot. I had a bit of problem with the aiming initially as it seemed a little imprecise. You want to get better at it quickly as you’re quickly reminded about your combo meter bleeding your score out. There is a melee button for when you want to get up close and personal but if your good and playing the game properly, most enemies will be dead before they get close. You’ll be using everything from handguns, automatic rifles, shotguns, etc to take them down with. Ammo is unlimited and it does pay off to aim properly instead of firing blindly. Your scores will quickly drop if you’re forced to reload at the wrong times.
There are several multiplayer modes included as well. The usual death match / team death match are available. These can be played locally, via system link and online. Not surprisingly the best mode is the when each player competes to obtain the highest point total in a single run. If your friends have The Club then this is the multiplayer mode of choice. Games are completed quickly and you’ll have a great time topping your friend’s high scores. In general the multiplayer is pretty straightforward I wouldn’t expect this to draw you away from Unreal Tournament III for example.

Graphics and Sound
The Club isn’t a bad looking game but it’s not something that will blow your eyes out of their sockets. The high point is definitely the levels and their design in general. With tons of different paths, multiple floors, hidden areas there is plenty to learn about stage. Each area i.e. steel mill has its own distinct characteristics, color schemes and more. Hats off to the developers, after all Project Gotham racing had some of best level design and track layouts in the racing genre, its no surprise that it’s present in The Club. The problem is that it all looks okay at best. There isn’t any one visual feature that stands out. Everything has this flat look to it. The explosion effects are alright I just wished there more of them and they happened much more often.
The characters definitely look interesting and have varied models. But it’s nothing you haven’t seen before. You have the typical gruff African American mercenary character, gritty British character, huge Russian, graffiti punk and more. Each character looks different visually but plays pretty much the same. The intro cinematic give an interesting look at each individual, but none of this is relevant in the actual game.
