Some of the special effects and minor details come across nicely. But when you really take a step back and think about it, this type of game could look incredible on the PS3. When you see games such as Dead Rising from the past with so many characters on-screen at once, the potential is certainly there for some awe-inspiring battles. Unfortunately none of that is here. It looks decent, but not up to next-gen standards for the PS3.
The same can be said for the audio aspect of the game as the voice acting is awful. The only saving grace is the fact that the sound effects come across nicely during battles.
Dynasty Warriors 6 is a release, which the core fan base will surely enjoy. The game has the classic button-mashing mechanics in place, and has a very hardcore story to go along with it. The series still needs some extra work though to be considered a great next-gen experience. Worth a rental at best for button-mashing fans.
| 6.0 | Graphics Some of the effects look nice but the framerate and pop-in issues are too much to ignore. |
| 6.0 | Sound The voice acting is pretty bad, but sound effects come across strong. |
| 5.0 | Gameplay The button-mashing gets repetitive over time, you will unfortunately get bored. |
| 7.5 | Replay Value The unlockable characters, co-op mode, etc. will keep some playing if you enjoy the battle system. Online co-op needs to be in Dynasty Warriors 7! |
| 6.8 | Overall "The series still needs some extra work though to be considered a great next-gen experience. Worth a rental at best for button-mashing fans." |
