What are your opinions regarding the Playstation 3 and has your opinion changed since it has been on the market ? 

I’m surprised about things they don’t have.  I have spent a lot of time on the 360 and have watched the ps3 and watched a lot of demos on it.  It’s alright but there are something’s like when you are downloading you can’t do anything else.  Why would you ever do that?  Also, If you go onto Gamespot or any other site displaying comparative screen shots of identical games, the Xbox 360 looks better for some reason.  It seems like the ps3 is washing things out a bit more.  Its ok, I don’t think I will be buying one, I’m not interested in spending that kind of money.   

Do you believe Sony built the Playstation 3 to truly be a 10 year system? 

I think they did, I believe it was there intention; they have always pushed for this home media center kind of thing.  I don’t think it will last that long but I believe it was their intentions.  Look at computers 5 years from now, there is no way consoles can compete with the constant technology updating that pc’s have.

Was the public hype over the Playstation 3 part of Sony’s marketing strategy ?

Sony is smart. Sony knows just the name Sony on something guarantees a large amount of followers.  I have friends that it doesn’t matter what it is, if it’s a PSP or whatever, they have it.  For some reason Sony has this type of cult following partly because they have been so successful for so many years.  Just think about how many years we have been playing a Playstation.  That’s why they have this massive following.  They market that and push it.  For the first time, I’m hearing Sony’s fans being a bit disappointed from there products slightly, I actually don’t know a single person who has bought the system.  It’s just too expensive.

What are your thoughts of Playstation 3’s reportedly sitting on store shelves ? 

I wasn’t sure exactly what was going to happen.  I anticipated them not moving off the shelves but at the same time I knew all the Sony fans are going to buy the thing no matter what price they charge.  Plus they generally under stock the stores so that you get a greater value for the system.  The one thing that hurt them was not having a big launch title.  They had a few good games but didn’t have their “Gears of War” type of title.  Likewise 360 didn’t either during their launch. I consider Gears of War Xbox 360’s big launch title.  The ps3 has resistance, but I don’t see it being anything further than in quality like Half Life and that is about 3-4 years old.  They’re just not flying off the shelves right now.
