Secondly is an issue that can be somewhat of a nuisance to online gamers. The keyboard only supports the composition of messages to others for online games. For example, when you enter a party or a pre-game lobby for Resistance: Fall Of Man, you will not be able to press a button on the keyboard to bring up the Playstation 3 on-screen keyboard. Instead, you will have to press the R2 button on the SIXAXIS, and then begin typing using the MediaBoard. Again, this is a very minor issue but it would have been great had there been a button on the keyboard itself to bring up the on-screen keyboard.

Lastly is the price. The MediaBoard will run you about $80 to $100 dollars depending on which retailer or website you purchase it from.

If you are in dire need of a wireless keyboard and mouse for you Playstation 3, then you really don’t have any other options at the moment. There will definitely be cheaper keyboards in the near future with the same if not more functionality. The MediaBoard is great and is pretty much the only option available at the moment, but is $80 worth typing faster for? That decision is for you to decide.

Apart from the high price, bland color scheme, and minimal problematic functions, the Logitech MediaBoard is a great keyboard for those of you who are completely opposed to using the on-screen Playstation keyboard. You get much more done at a much faster rate and the additional touchpad is more than welcome. With software such as Playstation Home arriving very soon, PS3 owners will almost definitely need either a keyboard or headset. It all just comes down to how much it has to offer in comparison to how much it will cost you.
