The death animations though are not as bad as they sound as they are extremely humorous as actually are the success scenes.  The way the adventure works is that when you get an option you will have to choose a direction to send Dirk, the main character for those who do not know Dragon’s Lair.  Options will allow you to point him in different directions or pull out his sword within a certain time frame.  If you miss the window of opportunity it is a death scene for you.  Some instances will have spikes in front of you requiring going a certain way to avoid them.  It is not a total guessing game as long as you stay on the ball and pay attention to the action.

Dragon’s Lair on the Blu-ray is one of the best offerings in years with the biggest complaint being the lack of a lot of quality special features.  With over 20+ years in the books now since its release more could have been added to the game and packed onto the Blu-ray disc to make it even more impressive than it already is.  Maybe a special edition version could fill this void somewhere down the line.  For Dragon’s Lair fans though who want to experience the beauty of Blu-ray and HD check out Dragon’s Lair on the Blu-ray format whether you have a PS3 or not, you will not be disappointed.

9.0
Graphics
Dragon’s Lair has never looked so good, great deep colors and details look better than ever in HD.
8.0
Sound
Crisp and clear audio sounds clear but does show its age in some spots.
5.5
Gameplay
The biggest complaint of the Blu-ray offering. With 20+ years past now there has to be more that can be dug up for special features.
8.0
Replay Value
A fun yet old experience which will please Dragon’s Lair fans of the past but may irritate those who are used to more modern day experiences.
