How Long Have You Owned Your PlayStation 3
I bring this one up because while I was going through receipts today due to my Logitech X-540 sound system suddenly deciding to stop working on one speaker. Anyway while looking I came across my original receipt for my PlayStation 3 and noticed as of tomorrow, January 2nd my console will be 2 years old and I also had a laugh at how much it cost, $499.99 plus tax.

So my question is how old is your console and if you can remember or have the original receipt, how much did it cost you.

since it came out 600 plus tax i think

The morning it came out, and on my reciept (the guy pointed it out) it says I was the first guy in to buy one in their system lol. Says "customer #1" on it. Cost 653 dollars :P

I also have a RFOM reciept for 64 dollars haha, which is dated a full week before the PS3 ever came out.

The way it feels walking back to your car with a brand new PlayStation, missing school to camp for it, and getting an entire new experience like that...Id do it again any day, pay the same price and everything.

I remember I got my PS3 in March of last year, it cost me about $406, ( I worked at Wal-Mart at the time so I had the 10% discount on everything in the store and the McDonald's in the store)
I traded in my PS2 and its games at EB games so the games, MOH Airborne and TNA Impact only cost me like $18 or something like that

I got mine Dec. 25th 2007.

I got mine in March when it launched in Europe.

1st February 2008. Think the cost landed around 440-460 dollars. Worth every dollar if you ask me. (The one I bought (40gb) died 350 days later though, but I got a new 80gb 1 week later so i`m glad)

mine will be 3 years old april 12 (my birthday as well) and it cost about 640 or so with a game after taxes 60 GB FTW

I got my current 80GB just about a year ago actually - January 18, IIRC.

I had a 40GB before that but the BR Drive stopped working. I found someone on eBay that bought it off me for like $200, and the next week on, they had a sale on the 80GBs for $300, so I snapped it up.

why would someone pay 200 for a PS3 that does not read bluray discs?

misterhbk 03-01-2010 02:27 AM

Well, I got my current PS3 just this past christmas so it's barely over a week old lol. But I just sold my old 40GB to someone for 200 and got my gf to pay the rest of it so I could upgrade to the slim. I had the 40GB for close to a year or so. Loving the system of course! The Slim is awesome!

Because at the time you could have the repaired by Sony for less than what a new console cost and if you were really good for electronics, you can fix the system yourself for less than $100.

I think he was hoping to get it repaired for free by Sony since it was still under the one year warranty. He e-mailed me later asking for a receipt, but I didn't have one(that's why I sold it in the first place :P). I made it clear in my auction that I didn't have a receipt or anything, and that it was broken, so his loss!

That karma is gonna come back and bite you in the ass one day

I would feel bad if I didn't specifically mention it didn't read discs and didn't have a receipt to get it repaired, so my hands are clean :P
