Starcraft 2 online annoyance

okay heres my problem with online for starcraft 2 online:
I was in a game on practice mode against a human opponent twice tonight.
both the times when I was winning they just decided to leave the game instead of just admitting defeat.
the first time didn't really bug me because I had practically won anyways
but the second time around, the guy quit just because I had overrun his expansion and one of his barracks and his starport even though the rest of his main base was still intact.

has anyone else who's played this game or any similar games had any similar problems and is there a benefit to just leaving a game before you officially lose a match online?

I don't mean to be insulting or complain in any way.
i just find it annoying how people just leave a game as soon as they are gonna lose a game

With Starcraft I find myself quiting alot more often than other games. Like COD, you have a bad game here and there, but your stats can still be good and theres always that possibility of a come back. With Starcraft its strategy and you can spend hours developing this strategy, then a suprise happens and something goes wrong and now your screwed. Its the fact you spent all this time on it that your like eff that im done, no point in staying.

Just wondering does SC2 track loss and quits? Or does it just tally a quit as a loss? And if a person quits you still get the win right?

with Starcraft 2, if you leave it counts as a loss.
the two matches where my opponents left, I got a win for that.
the thing that I don't like is that for two games that my connection lagged out or something like that and they booted me count as me loosing even though the game just started
