Japanese PSP

Hi, i have a japanese PSP and the one annoying thing about it is the O button is the action button whereas the european ones (not sure about american versions) are the X button is there any way to change them around?

Yeah, its another no, im guessing you have a white one/not black PSP? although if it annoys you, when your get you PS3, you can change the X to O.

personnally, at first it annoyed me, but now im used to it and rather like it, its very japaneseish (think of FF7)

yes if you play ff7 alot then you get used to it to and you fijd u start using it with other rpg games. How annying

Also MGS2 uses O instead of X.

alright mate, what firmware r u on? it is possible to change them. you just need to be on the right firmware so you can downgrade or upgrade to a custom firmware. the custom firmwares come with a recovery mode which has 'registry hacks' which allows you to change the buttons, enable WMA without internet etc. get it touch ill help you out.

Yeah, i'd prefer to keep my PSP Pure, not have a horrible custom Firmware...

Also Sony will release a firmware that allows it to be changed, because its possible on PS3.

well once u change it you could always go back down to 1.5 again..keeping the PSP 'pure' is no different to custom firmware..it takes nothing away anyway.just makes things better.well thts my opinion anyway

Yeah, but you have to wait for custom firmware to released, and it can brick a PSP, which is bad... Especially for a JAP PSP With no warrranty! atleast UK PSP's can say the battery fell out when upgrading or something...

the firmwares are normally decrypted on the day of release..(unless there hard to do)...3.10 OE-A was made as quick as the original was released so not much waiting!

i am sure you will get used to it over time but i do not know what the action button is on us..versions

I've got a Japanese PSP too, and I think it makes more sense to use O as select than using X.
