Gt4 dlc?
Where are they? Supposed to be a major selling point of GT4, and i've yet to see one. Been looking around PSN ever since Xbox announced theirs...

the new trailer is out now, premiered at the VGAs. the dlc is entitled "Grand Theft Auto 4: The Lost and Damned". Lots of harleys and stuff. looks pretty cool. It's going for 20 dollars but only on the 360 unfortunently. You can check out the trailer on gametrailers.com. I personally havn't even come close to beating the game so i don't care so much right now. soon enough though...

I dont think so.. those are Microsoft's. it would be like them releasing Halo on the PS. Not to say I wouldn't mind the DLC to appear on the PS3 at some point

The Halo reference is entirely different. Rockstar is in all essence a Third Party Developer while Bungie
was acquired by microsoft game studios during their run with the Halo franchise and then let go at the end of that trilogy. GTA4 has already appeared on both consoles and as such it wouldnt be a stretch to say at some point the DLC may be on both consoles as well. |

My point was, MS owns the exclusive rights to the two GTA IV expansions. The DLC is Microsoft's, just like Halo is Microsoft's.
And from what I understood it is not a timed exclusive, though I may be wrong.

I dont think they own the rights to anything, they just handed R* some money to sweeten a deal and then
content was promised to hit XBL as an exclusive, but lifetime exclusive... probably not I still think that at some point long after the launch on XBL it will end up on the PSN, its just the overall better business model. Last edited by SaintAvi; 07-01-2009 at 12:29 PM.. |

Time will tell I suppose. I hope I am wrong about who owns the rights to the DLC and that the PSN gets the expansions at some point

i thought that microsoft had exclusivity for THOSE like 3 DLC for GTA IV but if they put other stuff out it could come on PS3 i am not entirely sure but to be honest even if it did come out on PS3 i wouldnt buy it

Rockstar would be foolish to give Microsoft exclusive rights. Doesn't matter how much money Microsoft throws at them. It's just not a good business move and Rockstar knows that.
When Microsoft bought majority of Bungie they also bought the "HALO License". When Bungie found that being owned by a coorporation like Microsoft wasn't as good as they hoped they were able to purchase back majority stake but had to let Microsoft control/own the "HALO License". Remember Bethesda couldn't say anything about DLC on the PS3 for Fallout 3 then started talking as the deal with Microsoft started to expire. This is will be the same for Rockstar. |
