Some More Details on Gran Turismo 5

Well we've heard plenty before but now Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has since done an interview with Autoweek at the SEMA show and has revealed some more details about the game, but no release date for North America. Some details include the fact the game is completely from scratch, hence explaining the significant timeline of the game, it's apparently cost around $60 million to make, should feature around 1,000 cars, the NASCAR portion of the game will NOT feature all the cars of NASCAR or all the tracks but the included NASCAR vehicles will be able to race on more than just NASCAR tracks, there's around 400,000 polygons to a single vehicle compared to Gran Turismo 4 managing around 4,000 and that Gran Turismo 6 will indeed come out and in a much shorter timeframe due to being able to base it off the code used in Gran Turismo 5.

Also thanks to Kotaku we also have some new screenshots from the game.

Heard that GT5 will be on 3 blu-ray discs...75GB of car racing madness. A little disappointed about not a full functioning NASCAR license though. Would really like to see Polyphony blow the competetioin away... Still wondering about the WRC license to?

Actually that was a mistake, it will be only one disc though they can use dual-layer Blu-Ray, Metal Gear Solid 4 did so that they have 50GB to work with and I imagine they will with the scope this game will cover.

Thanks for the info. I was kinda worried about being on 3 discs, sounds cool for a minute then you think why do I want to change discs?
