Points idea

I guess this is where I should put this...

Anyway, I was just thinking about how you make themes that other people download, would you be able to make it so that if someone downloads your theme, then you could get maybe 50 points or something. It might be kind of hard making sure that people don't download their own theme for extra points, but I think that would be a pretty good idea. That way you could be rewarded for making a good theme that other people like.

What do you think?

I have the option to add that in my system, however I didn't add it because people can download their theme 10 times within 2 minutes and gain 500 points. I'd have to talk to my programmer to see if we can put a restriction cap of 1 download for 50 points per user.. but it would be difficult cause anyone can just clear their browser cache and history.

So your not able to make it so they can't download their own theme?

Even so, someone could create a fake account and just keep downloading their own theme. I love the idea but it is very vulnerable.

yea i was actually thinking the same thing when i was submitting themes i was liek well how come idont get credit for people downloading it but it maeks sense i guess but still woudl be a good little feature to add.

I was also thinking is there a way you can show liek a break down of our points? so we can see how we got our points like if we got credit for submitting a theme yet or a referral?

Let's not forget the meat of the forum is the community and submitted content, I think the point system is fine with it's no frills approach.
