is that normal or is it something I need to be worried about?

Have you dropped it?
Is it out in a area where it can collect dust?
Is it just with a specific game?

I accidentally knocked it over but its on the ground anyways so it only fell over onto carpet
its not really in an area where it can collect dust
and its with most games

If it's damaging the discs, then it sounds like a big issue, if not, it should be ok

what sort of discs. strictly dvds or also games? Mine hums and vibrates when I put on certain dvd copies. I think it's the labels or difference in disc weight.

Also I had a problem with one game specificly. The hole in the middle is cracked. But if I push the disc when inserting it plays fine and no vibrating.

It could be getting dust build up inside of it, try spraying it out. People say that just moves the dust, but its already causing a problem just sitting there.
