And it can use component cables. not in HD i guess, but it does make things look a little better.

yes it does, and from those who use them component is a must. one person needed them for his tv because composite caused a huge delay.

480i is SDEF 480p is the lowest HD resolution. as for component cables, yes it is HD quality, it just isnt as good as HDMI.

Do not, whatever you do, play with compo****e cables. If you have a HDTV you should be using component for 480p and if you are using a non-HDTV then S-Video is your best bet for a NTSC machine.

WHAT??????

YOUR USING COMPOSITE CABLES FOR A PS3 ON AN HDTV!!!! YOU COULD GET PUT ON A REGISTER OR SOMETHING!

Seriously, go out and buy a $20 HDMI Cable, and the Nintendo Component Cable.

He's warning you that there are certain groups in the world who makes lists... groups who don't look kindly upon people who commit technological atrocities like using composite cables between a PS3 and an HDTV! The kind of people who end up swimming at the bottom of the Hudson, ya get my drift?

Don't make me come over there and "save" your PS3 from you, you monster! :P
