Nolan!!

Well chaps, I enjoy Nolan North's voice work as much as the next guy and
think he does a great job giving voice to Nathan Drake but I think he may be
oversaturating the market with his talent.

I downloaded the Dark Void demo today and whadda ya know, the main
character sounds exactly like Drake, even has his quips.

Same thing happened around the time Prince of Persia came out, if you want
to hire the guy, I'd prefer they take a chapter out of Insomniac's playbook
and at least have him tweek his voice (Nolan was the voice of Sigmund, the
assistant caretaker bot)

Does this stick out to anyone else ?

Its up to the director for one, but its also up to him to pick good projects. The Dark Void demo was crap, I see the game being just the same. Why would a AAA actor choose to be in a crappy film? Same goes here.

The next part is its up to him to be unique to each character. One thing Japanese people get all over American studios is all our voice actors cant change their voice and sound the same in everything. While Nolan is a great voice in Uncharted, he is begining to be a prime example of this.

In Assassins Creed you cant really tell he plays Desmond, at least I think he plays him? I thought he only played Desmon in current time in the labs, which is OBVIOUSLY his voice. He needs to either learn to change his voice, or stop doing every game that comes his way. In the end of the day he is only hurting Uncharted and his future career.

Actually thats not the case Dustin, he has offered to change his voice for the dev's and they tell him not to.

He's in a unique yet rough position

LMAO the end of that video! Billy who wants candy! :P

But see he can change his voice so he needs to do it. If the devs say "no we just want that voice" then he needs to quality check the studio. If they are making a Dark Void he needs to say "sorry I got projects elsewhere" and if they are making an Uncharted then he can jump on board. Otherwise we are just playing Drake in differnt positions, like watching Tom Cruise be a soldier one day and an agent the next, its still Tom Cruise its not the character he is supposed to be portraying.
