I have a Sammy plasma. If you have the money then look at Sony. I have a Sony Style store near me and the new Z series with PS3 looks amazing. If you are on a budget then Sammy is a way to go. The key will be refresh rate as LCD are the slowest even with 120hz/240hz technology. DLP is the fastest and plasma is in the middle. I guess the quesiton I have for you is what size are you looking for?

This is coming in after the fact but in general, look for a television with a high contrast ratio, a decent refresh rate, 60hz is baseline I believe, and several HDMI and Component inputs.

If you are going under 40 inches or so, don't really worry about 1080p as you won't
really see the difference

Anything 1080p. Go with LCD and not plasma. I have a 42" sharp and its beautiful, especially when playing 1080p bluray movies :)
