Mark This One in the Dumb Section

But apparently playing too much PlayStation can cause painful lumps on your hands. According to a Vancouver Sun article, a Sweedish study of one girl has apparently revealed having too tight a grip on your controller and playing for hours on end can cause painful lumps, they recommend cutting back on playing time if you're hands start to hurt (thanks Sherlock). Sony has also come forward saying "As with any leisure pursuit there are possible consequences of not following common sense, health advice and guidelines, as can be found within our instruction manuals". I mark this dumb because A. It's a study of one case and as Sony points out in the article, hundreds of millions of PlayStation's exist with no complaints, so one girl suddenly means we should be calling too much PlayStation a cause for concern and B. It's outlined in the manual to take breaks plus if you're hands are already hurting shouldn't you have the common sense to stop.

EDIT: Same here, I been playing consoles for a long time and the only time a controller ever caused any pain was years ago with the original PlayStation I had injured my hand and despite the warnings against using DualShock vibrations while experiencing an injury I did so anyway and I felt it.
Some say he has a long signature and long posts, all we know is he's called X_Racer1.

Been playing Playstation for over 10 years now, ever since PS1. What is that 15 years? I checked my hands and see no lumps at all, even after my all nighters with MGS4 lol.

Yeah it can cause a problem, like wrist pain or something if you use it too long but its nothing major. At absolute worst, you will get carptunnel. Howeer if your gonna get that its gonna be from typing on the computer too much, not playing ps3.

I do the same thing and I have no problems as well. Oh well, people are always trying to find something else to complain about, theres not really that much we can do. They can't really do much either, people will still play even if they actually prove something
