Low sound on blu-ray?????

Can anyone explain to me why the hell the sound quality on blu-ray is so quiet? I dont have any problems with PS3 games or DVDs why just blu-ray films??? on the PS2 their was this problem with DVD playback but you could turn the sound up on the system. Is there anyway who knows how to make the sound louder on the Blu ray films?? (and before you ask yes I can turn the sound up on my TV!)

id take it you are connected through HDMI. I have a similar problem where blu ray video sounds are so low compared to any other media I play. I just think its the way they are encoded but for the most part I raise the sound on my ps3 by pressing the triangle during the video and raising the ps3 sound to the max.

Try that and let me know.
Thanks

this is basically a ps3 compatability issue with your tv.

if you go into the audio output settings for the ps3 it is probably trying to do a 5 channel out or 2 channel out file. you might have to unselect the 5 channel stuff unless you are using surround sound. also, try turning out the surround settings on your tv.
