Mass Effect News

Well if you're not already aware, Mass Effect 2 will be releasing for PS3 this January, more specifically around the 18th - 21st of the month. On it's own this is great news, but then EA let another bombshell drop, Mass Effect 3 is indeed a game already in development and this time, it's in development for PC, 360 and PS3 all at the same time.

Needless to say, fans of the Mass Effect series have more than one reason to rejoice as you won't have to wait to get it for PS3 this time around.

as soon as I learned that bioware was now a part of EA i knew mass effect would go multiplat, whats amusing is how much they would go out of their way to avoid giving firm answers as to weather or not they actually were developing for the ps3

There were legal issues over Mass Effect 1 and Microsoft was ensuring it didn't go to PS3. So Bioware had to be careful, thus they held out on saying anything just so they didnt get sued by MS.

Once EA figured out ME2 wasn't any issues and a easy loophole to bring ME1 over was found, then it was like well hello PS3 fans. haha!

Well there's even better news, BioWare isn't slacking on the Mass Effect 2 port to PS3, in fact, our version of Mass Effect 2 will actually be running on the engine designed for Mass Effect 3. Basically as BioWare puts it "This really is the true, best version of Mass Effect that we've released to date.", the reason, we got it a year late so they want to reward those who waited for the game.

Unfortunately, I won't be buying the game for PS3 when it releases as I should be getting the PC version this Christmas, but this is definitely a game to purchase for almost any PS3 owner.
