Ouch, I actually had an old IBM machine that was on it's last legs so before it totally died out I tried out Ubuntu Linux, needless to say, it didn't go well, no one in my house would use it and I didn't like it. I mean I enjoy open source software, Mozilla Firefox is a great example of it done well, but Linux just doesn't have the support or ease of use that Windows has. Thankfully though that IBM machine lasted long enough that we had a desktop till I got my HP desktop and then that IBM machine was disassembled and the parts were thrown into another PC case I had lying around where it now sits unused and probably not working.

I took an old gateway computer, like from 94 or 95, and made it into a Linux server for my dad. Worked pretty nicely to be honest, considering the computer was useless as an actual computer now.

In my old (OLD) school we had the original macontosh computers, back when the screens were differnt colors and what not. Geez now thats classy lol.

Ooh I remember old Mac's, back in middle school our computer lab consisted of them, and they were almost 10 years old, the school was closed down that year so they didn't bother to replace them as the new school already had brand new machines. But boy were they bad, you couldn't do almost anything on them, they ran as slow as heck and no one knew how to use them, we actually spent most of our time in "computer class" playing a Civ 2 demo that was on the machines.
