Mark Rein believes Unreal Tournament 3 will be out on Playstation 3 this year, but the Epic games front-man thinks it is unlikely they will obtain the necessary certification to make a European release possible until 2008.

Rein, speaking at a gaming conference in Birmingham said:

"Right now we’re very close to a release candidate, and we should have it finished by the end of this week. Then we send it off and it’s just a matter of what happens from there.

"We think there’s a very solid shot we’ll get out this year - I don’t know about Europe. Europe’s a problem because the certification process in Europe takes longer.

"They’re testing all these different languages in all these different countries, so I doubt it’ll be released this year in Europe. But I don’t know. We’ll have to cross our fingers and wait and see."
