Ever since the trailer of the game was released there has been tons of speculation as to what the storyline and theme of the upcoming next-generation game Assassin’s Creed had in store.
Assassin’s Creed, for the one person that doesn’t know about it already, is Ubisoft Montreal’s upcoming action game set in 1191 AD during the Third Crusade.
In the game you will take the role as the assassin Altair and are tasked with eliminating and destroying key figures in the war. This is on both sides as well as you will be killing big wigs on each side of the battlefield. This is all in an attempt to end the war.
Assassin’s Creed may seem familiar to some as a style along the lines of a Prince of Persia game but with many stealth mechanics worked into thanks to the social camouflage feature.
The game will pack loads of animations with acrobatic maneuvers using the environment around Altair.
There have been tons of hints as to whether or not the entire game would be set in the period of the Third Crusade, but that may not be the case.
There seems to be more of a sci-fi twist than anticipated as revealed in an interview with IGN TV which actress Kristen Bell had. She is the star of Veronica Mars and explains her connection to the game.
She revealed that the sci-fi premise of the game was great.
"It’s actually really interesting to me. It’s sort of based on the research that’s sort of happening now, about the fact that your genes might be able to hold memory. And you could argue semantics and say it’s instinct, but how does a baby bird know to eat a worm, as opposed to a cockroach, if its parents don’t show it? And it’s about this science company trying to, Matrix-style, go into peoples brains and find out an ancestor who used to be an assassin, and sort of locate who that person is."
This type of sci-fi talk is extremely exciting to say the least as it reveals a great many questions about the game including the fact that it may be bringing us into different time periods of the world. We will have to wait and see as the coverage of this game is followed extremely closely.
