Drawn Together: Season Three Uncensored DVD Review Paramount Home Entertainment Release: May 13, 2008
Comedy Central and Paramount have released the final season of Drawn Together, Season Three. Drawn Together, for those of you who do not know, is a cartoon which basically is a spoof on reality TV shows. It is a respectable comedy series which, through three seasons, never really seemed to find its stride completely.
In Drawn Together, you see eight cartoon characters living together in a home. You get some zany characters such as Foxxy Love, Captain Hero, Princess Clara, and others. These characters are just like the ones in the real reality TV shows, focusing on food, sex, and having a good time.
The show does not hold back one bit, and we applaud it for that it is one rude and crude presentation to say the least.
The episodes in season three cover a wide variety of topics, and are pretty funny for the most part. Some are more hit and miss than others, but as a whole there are some quality moments here in the final season of Drawn Together.
The episodes include.
1. Greeks & Freaks
2. Wooldoor Sockbat’s Giggle-Wiggle Funny Tickle Non-Traditional Progressive Multicultural Roundtable.
3. Spelling Applebee’s
4. Unrestrainable Trainable
5. N.R.A. yRay
6. Mexican’t Buy Me Love
7. Lost In Parking Space, Part I
8. Lost In Parking Space, Part II
9. Drawn Together Babies
10. Nipple Ring-Ring Goes to Foster Care
11. Foxxy and the Gang Bang
12. Breakfast Food Killer
13. Charlotte’s Web of Lies
14. The Elimination Special, Part II: The Elimination
In terms of video quality, the program’s 1.33:1 aspect ratio is produced nicely in the DVD transfer. The shows are all very colorful with some nice detail, and an extremely clear presentation overall. There is no dirt or anything of that nature to be found, a job well-done with the video.
The Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo track leaves a bit to be desired but the voices do sound solid from the center channel. Music and sound effects are spread out through the left and right channels, but sometimes do not sound as crisp as they could.
In terms of special features, you get four audio commentaries with some of the episodes. These feature producers, the director of the episode and some of the voice actors talking about the entire production.
There are also three montages of the promos for each of the seasons of Drawn Together, a nice touch for fans. Beyond that though you are left wanting much more.
Drawn Together ended in its third season without ever really catching its stride in terms of where it could be as a comedic cartoon. In the end though, for fans of the series, the last season is a solid purchase on DVD.
Episodes: 7.0
Some episodes are solid, while others will have you just shaking your head. It doesn’t dare to go over that line though.
Video: 8.0
A nice video transfer, solid colors.
Audio: 6.0 The audio leaves much to be desired, not enough here to really pump out the music, sound effects. Special Features: 6.0 Final Score: 7.0
