THQ has confirmed the highly-anticipated Conan game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next-generation consoles.

The Conan game will be the first THQ product from the multi-year Conan licensing agreement they obtained late in 2005.

The game was announced in a manner that it would play similar to the God of War franchise from Sony.

THQ made the official announcement today that the game would release in 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

It will be based on the Conan character himself and will be brought to life based on the Robert E. Howard’s original stories.

"The strength and diversity of the Conan brand lends itself extremely well to the interactive format," said Jack Sorensen, executive vice president, worldwide studios, THQ. "Through intense combat, familiar environments and next generation visuals, we believe Conan fans and action adventure enthusiasts alike are certain to embrace this future addition to the Conan universe."

Nihilistic Software is the developer of the game and describes the action adventure game to follow a story of “epic brutality, sheer evil, and visceral combat.”  Now if that doesn’t get your blood going for a Conan game nothing will.

The journey of Conan will be in the hands of gamers as he goes to battle against many different enemies.  He will battle a power which threatens to destroy the Hyborian world.

Conan will use a deep combat systm never before seen in a game as well as many weapons and interactive environments.
