The Ratchet & Clank series was one of the staples of the PlayStation 2.  On almost a yearly basis we were greeted with a new Ratchet and Clank game and each one was very fun to play and had some great gameplay, visuals, etc.  It was one of the true gems of this generation as it made its mark and came up from scratch as a completely new franchise and blossomed into one of the biggest ones currently on any console.

The combination of action/platformer genres allowed it to reach a very wide crowd as it packed with it big guns, big action, along with story, fun, and platforming prowess.

Fans of the series will be very pleased to hear that Insomniac, the creator and mastermind behind the Ratchet and Clank series, has confirmed that a new game is in development for the Sony PlayStation 3 console.  Any news beyond that is stricly rubbish as no new concrete news has been announced for the game.  This includes anything about the visuals, controls, not even a screenshot.

The only news about the game is in an e-mail note sent out to fans of the series from the developer Insomniac.  In the latter sent out via e-mail, Insomniac stated that, ""Those of you who are waiting for some Ratchet & Clank news, here’s a quick update. We are in full production on our R&C PlayStation 3 game. That’s all we can share at this time, but you’ll be hearing and seeing more from us in the not-so-distant future."

With the quality of games that the Ratchet and Clank series brought to the PlayStation 2, everyone should be extremely excited to see what Insomniac will pull off on the PlayStation 3 and we eagerly await to report any new news that will out out in regards to this game!
