According to a Factor 5 developer who worked on Lair on the PS3, Lair pushed the limits of what the PS3 can do.

An interview was held with one of the members of the team and he was asked what he is the most proud of in regards to the game. He stated that the PS3 has many advantages which they used to the fullest including 1080p, 7.1 uncompressed surround sound, as well as the SIXAXIS controls.

He stated that "Lair takes advantage of all of the aspects of the PS3: 1080p graphics, 7.1 uncompressed surround sound, an epic musical score, motion control on the SIXAXIS [controller] and enough content to fill 25 gigs, all in the service of telling this fantastic story. This is a game and experience that literally could not have been done on any other system, past or present, and that is just amazing. "

With the extremely negative press Lair has been receiving it is a little shocking for a comment such as this to come out now as it is clear that it is not the AAA title Sony PS3 fans were hoping for.

If this is all that the PS3 can do, developers need to wake up and go back to school to learn how to create games for something like the PS3.

bigd says: Nowhere in this snippet of an article from an interview by someone else speaking to an unconfirmed developer does it say they pushed the ps3 to its limits. What it does say is they used some of the features of the ps3 and managed to fill less than half the capacity of a blu ray disc. Hardly pushing any limits, more like a slow news day lets make up a random article consisting solely of fictitious hearsay. Time for a career adjustment, of to the tabloids with you.
